Frequently asked questions

What is a legacy gift?

A future gift you plan today — often through your will, estate, or life insurance — that supports wildlife for years to come.

Do I need to be wealthy to leave a gift?

Not at all. Many legacy gifts are modest but still make a powerful difference for rescued wildlife.

What types of legacy gifts can I leave?

You can leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, the residue after other commitments, or a gift of life insurance.

Can I change or update my legacy gift later?

Yes. Your will and estate plans can be revised at any time as your circumstances evolve.

Will my family still be taken care of?

Absolutely. Your loved ones come first, and you can structure your plans to support both them and the wildlife you care about.

How will my gift help wildlife?

Legacy gifts provide long-term stability, fund rescue operations, medical care, and rehabilitation, and ensure the safe release of future generations of animals.

Should I tell the charity about my plans?

You don’t have to, but sharing your intentions helps the charity plan ahead and gives them the chance to thank you properly.

Do I need a lawyer to include a gift in my will?

It’s recommended. A legal professional ensures your wishes are clearly documented and carried out exactly as intended.

Can I leave a gift in memory of someone?

Yes. Many supporters honour a loved one by leaving a legacy gift in their name.
