Aaron Hilgerdenaar

Aaron is the Senior Manager, Bylaw Services with the City of Coquitlam, where he works in municipal regulatory services including bylaw enforcement, business licensing, and animal services. His professional focus is on practical problem-solving, collaboration, and supporting safe and healthy communities.

Aaron also serves as a Coroner with the BC Coroners Service and teaches bylaw compliance and enforcement at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. These roles reflect his interest in public service, accountability, and mentorship.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Simon Fraser University, along with post-graduate certificates in leadership, conflict resolution, and investigative practice. Aaron has a long-standing passion for animal care and welfare and values the important role organizations like the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC play in protecting wildlife and supporting rehabilitation, education, and stewardship across the province.

Outside of work, Aaron enjoys travelling, motorcycle riding, and spending time outdoors.
