Every day, wildlife face dangers in urban settings from dangerous litter to harmful fishing gear. In the heart of the holiday season, you have the chance to bring light and hope to injured animals. This year, Wildlife Rescue has cared for animals like a gull who was injured by a skewer and gosling caught on a hook. These tiny lives were saved through the compassion of caring people.
With your holiday gift, animals can heal, spread their wings, and return to the wild beauty of our province. Give today and make this season sparkle with kindness, wonder, and the promise of second chances
Wildlife living in urban areas face many challenges and dangers, such as busy roads, loss of habitat, pollution, pet predation, and unsecured garbage. The Wildlife Rescue Association of British Columbia works to mitigate this impact on wildlife.
Since 1979, we’ve operated a wildlife hospital and a support centre in Burnaby, BC. Our main goals are to rehabilitate wildlife impacted by urban life, and to empower communities to coexist harmoniously with wildlife through education and outreach.
With a team of professional wildlife rehabilitators and an army of volunteers, we provide temporary refuge and care to injured birds, bats, and other wildlife, treating close to 5,000 animals each year.
