Registered Veterinary Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join us and help develop and inspire our team. This regular, full-time position will perform daily animal care duties and assist in the daily operations of our Wildlife Hospital, which would include supporting our volunteer training efforts, supervising and developing team members where necessary.

  • Registered Veterinary Technologist certification (or equivalent)

  • ability to take an active role in the daily supervision of volunteers
  • eager to teach others, including volunteers and students
  • strong technical and analytical skills
  • excellent organization, task management and record-keeping skills
  • ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays (no overnight shifts)

Our ideal candidate may have some or all of the following qualifications:

  • able to demonstrable experience in the rehabilitation of wildlife, including birds
  • knowledge of native wildlife in BC, particularly the Lower Mainland region
  • a university diploma/degree in biological sciences
  • clinical and/or surgical experience would be a plus
  • experience of setting up standard operating procedures or protocols
  • supervisory experience
